Peach plantings need to be renewed (sometimes sooner than growers would like), and there are many new options available that improve upon the qualities of older varieties. The varieties listed below have characteristics such as improved flavor, size, color, and bud and tree hardiness.
Early Ripening Varieties
Desiree™ (-26)

Desiree®
A highly colored, semi-freestone peach. Desiree was developed by Rutgers University with good bacterial spot resistance.
Earlystar® (-18)
Earlystar® has a sweet flavor and firm texture. It colors to 90% red. This heavy cropper benefits from heavy thinning to achieve optimum size.
Summer Serenade® (-16)
Harvesting in Garnet Beauty season, Summer Serenade is a cold hardy, productive, semi-freestone peach.
Glenglo™ (-10)
A reliable early season peach with excellent flavor, Glenglo is a large peach with low fuzz. Fruit is nearly freestone when tree ripened.
Flamin’ Fury® PF 8 Ball (-8)
PF 8 Ball is semi-cling with impressive size. Fruit will hang well on the tree and become nearly freestone over time.

Risingstar®
Risingstar® (-7)
Ripening about a week before Redhaven, Risingstar® is a semi-freestone peach with few split pits. It is known to be quite bud hardy and vigorous.
Mid-Season Varieties
Redhaven (0)
The most requested farm stand peach. Your customers will know it is peach season when Redhaven is available.
Starfire® (+3)
A productive and reliable option with some bacterial spot resistance. Matures over a long window, requiring multiple pickings.

Starfire®
Flamin’ Fury® PF Lucky 13 (+6)
Lucky 13 is a quality peach with crunchy texture and good flavor. It is a productive variety that has low susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Coralstar® (+16)
This is a fantastic peach to follow-up Redhaven season. Coralstar is a large peach with good flavor. Fruit will hold well on the tree and in cold storage. Coralstar® is a must have for the farm stand.
Messina™ (+17)
Messina™ is a firm, large peach with low fuzz. Fruit colors well and is somewhat bacterial spot resistant.
Sweetstar® (+18)

Sweetstar®
One of the best mid-season peaches, Sweetstar is large, with great color and flavor. It is also proving to have excellent bud hardiness. This new introduction from the Stellar breeding program may prove to be one of the best.
JulyPrince (+24)
Introduced by the USDA in 2008, this highly colored peach is firm and will hang on the trees for up to 10 days. This peach also has impressive size.
Late Season Varieties
Selena™ (+29)
This bacterial spot resistant variety fills the window between Cresthaven and Encore. Selena produces a large, flavorful fruit.
Tiana™ (+34)

Tiana®
This productive peach has a good sweet-acid balance. Fruit is generally free of split-pits with firm flesh.
Autumnstar® (+37)
A great option to extend peach season, Autumnstar® has a fuller color and better texture than Encore. The tree is vigorous with some canker resistance.
Victoria® (+47)
Victoria is a firm fleshed peach with good flavor. It is a productive and vigorous tree and some bacterial spot resistance has been observed.
Flat Peach Varieties
Galaxy (-2)
One of the largest flat peaches, Galaxy is a tasty white peach.
Saturn (+1)

Sweetcap®
A high sugar, white fleshed peach with red skin.
Tangos® (+5)
Tangos® have a unique yellow skin over yellow flesh. The fruit is firm with an excellent balance of acidity and sugar.
Sweetcap (+21)
An introduction from France, Sweetcap is a white peach with a very small pit. Farm stand customers have raved about it’s great flavor.
